The fishing season of the Oosterscheldekreeft runs annually from the last Thursday in March until 15 July. The last auction of this fishing season took place on Tuesday, July 18th, at Colijnsplaat. Again this great regional product found her way through different buyers to mainly Dutch and Belgian restaurants. The same as last year, about 16,000 kilos of lobster was traded through the online auction system Pefa this season. On average, a somewhat higher price was realized on the auction clock compared to 2016. Next year, the auction of the Oosterscheldekreeft will be organized by the United Fish Auctions again. We are already looking forward to the start of the season of this delicious delicacy!
